Back at it again with my music listening statistics, and this time I'm actually writing something to go with it since I know all my fans were deeply upset last month's post had no details.

April's Top 10s

There are no strange names in my top 10 lists for April. Marianas Trench stays #1 (especially since I've been very into Astoria this month, which also claims the #2 spot on the album list) and Demi Lovato holds on to #2 easily.

The only two names that surprise me a bit are Shania Twain and Owl City. I love Shania Twain but I only have a "greatest hits" album of hers downloaded and didn't think I played it enough to break into the top 10. Back in high school I used to play Owl City on repeat so it's also not a huge surprise I just wouldn't have guessed I played them enough to make it to #8.

A HUGE shoutout to Cailin Russo who is the only artist from the Heated Rivalry soundtrack (which owned my entire top 10 list a few months ago) who has maintained a constant spot in my listening habits. Her song "Bad Things" is not only the perfect song for the end credits of Heated Rivalry but is also a great song to vibe to. I usually play it a second time every time it plays, which is likely how its holding onto a spot in my top 10s.

Listening Activity

Daily Listening Activity

From 4769 monthly listens to only 3111 in April, my overall listening activity is down pretty significantly – which I think is due to having more work shifts in April than I did in March.

My daily listening by hour doesn't have any huge insights, but compared to March where most of my listening was on weekends that trend didn't continue as strongly.

Artist Breakdown

The chart below shows some of my top artists of the month, and it shows that compared to previous months I'm spreading out my listens for Marianas Trench across more albums as opposed to only "Ever After".

With Demi Lovato however, I still am heavily biased towards only one of her albums – which in this case is "HOLY FVCK".

Genre Activity

In my genre activity pop music maintains the lead across all 4 time sections of the day, followed by rock and pop rock in the afternoons. Between 6PM and 12AM electronic music takes the #3 spot, and from 12Am to 6AM alternative rock is in 3rd place.

I'm really bad at distinguishing between genres, especially smaller niches like "alt rock" and "pop rock", so I don't even know what songs fall into which category but I imagine Demi's "HOLY FVCK" is the culprit for most of the pop rock.

All Time Statistics

As always, I'm including a snapshot of my All-Time statistics (as of May 2nd) in order to keep a running history of how my all-time statistics change. Nothing hugely surprising, just a bunch of lists still dominated by Marianas Trench and the Heated Rivalry soundtrack.

If this isn't the Top 10 list of a Canadian who was a teenager in the 2010s I don't know what is.
