Health Technology

Landing page for my posts and discussion about healthcare technology

As someone who grew up with many family members in the healthcare field, I have always held a massive amount of respect for the healthcare sector and anyone who works in it.

I do not consider myself a healthcare worker, and as someone who studied computer science and communications in university I am certainly not trained to be one, but I did begin working in administrative roles in hospitals in 2023.

Despite not being in a technical role, we obviously use tons of technology in every area of the hospital these days and with my computer science background I've come to notice the many inefficiencies and confusing ways we do things. While there are undoubtedly some reasons that are beyond my ability to understand as a relatively new employee in the system, I do believe many of the flaws in our approach to health IT are simply mistakes or oversights waiting to be fixed.

This issue as a whole is very interesting to me so I decided that I want to look into it, even if it never becomes anything more than a fun project that I do in my free time. This page will serve as the landing page or directory for the posts I make on this topic, and I will update it as I write more.
